It is being delivered in a context where our province has already been informed of a R50 million cut in the provincial budget and where on a daily basis we are confronted by the real possibility of our people being retrenched in many employment sectors. |

The Northern Cape Provincial Government will be celebrating Public Service Week (PSW) along with the rest of the country from the 29 June to 3 July 2009 under the theme “Delivery of quality service for sustainable development”. PSW is an integral part of the ongoing Batho Pele Revitalisation strategy, which is aimed at instilling or rebuilding good ethics, morale and pride in public servants’ endeavours to translate the people’s contract into reality through the provision of quality services that are responding to the needs of the people. PSW seeks to broaden access to services by taking services to the people. This platform also embraces integrated approaches to effectively utilize limited government resources for improved results.

Speech by the Premier of the Northern Cape Ms Hazel Jenkins at the occasion of the celebrations of the South African Youth day, Galeshewe Programme Director Distinguished Guests All youth Formations Ladies and Gentlemen We are gathered here to remember and salute the brave and courageous youth cadres who where at the forefront of the struggle for liberation on June 16 1976. They did not flinch in the face of the brutal and violent repressive apartheid regime, but where determined and willing to risk and sacrificed their young lives to ensure that we enjoy the fruits of freedom and democrcay. The ideals for which they live and died for should serve as a great source of inspiration to all the youth of our country especially the Province We commend them for the invaluable contribution which they have made in the struggle to free our country from oppression and white domination, which put us on the correct path to building a non racial, non sexist and Democratic South Africa. |
