Entrepreneurship Training

“Unlocking the Financial Bottlenecks for HDI’s in Business”

This was the theme for the Entrepreneurship training held by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDaT) on 29 September 2020. Entrepreneurship is a critical resource to economic development of a country.

Businesses of all sizes and across all sectors felt the financial strain inflicted by the Corona Virus outbreak hence, DEDaT, together with the National Department of Small Business Development are focused on providing SMME support and reviving the Northern Cape economy. In order for business owners and entrepreneurs to survive, they will have to innovate and make smart business decisions. It is the duty of all citizens to keep the economy alive, particularly the SMMEs which drive local economies and provide jobs.

DSBD is focused on providing relief and growing SMMEs. Provincial businesses are therefore encouraged to apply for relief and access other opportunities available on the DSBD website http://www.dsbd.gov.za/ .

Various other institutions are providing financial support to entrepreneurs namely; Small Enterprise Finance Agency (SEFA), Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA), National Empowerment Fund (NEF), Industrial Development Corporation (IDC).

Although the EGDF has been cancelled this financial year (2020/21) due to the COVID-19 pandemic; entrepreneurs are still encouraged to visit our offices to access business support services at:
