The MEC for Health in province, Mr Mxolisi Sokatsha, would like to take this opportunity to invite all media to the inauguration of the new Digital X-Ray machine at Bill Pickard Hospital in Prieska.

The new X-ray machine forms part of government’s 10 Point Plan for the Health sector as capsulated under Point 6: Revitalization of Health Infrastructure and Point 3: Improving the Quality of Health care services. Furthermore, the new addition to the hospital infrastructure is a clear indication of government’s commitment to improve health service delivery to our people. Prieska Hospital is one of only 4 hospitals that have a digital X-Ray machine.

The Ministerial Health Campaign will form part of the event aimed at bringing free health services to our people – HIV Testing and Counselling, TB screening, blood pressure testing, sugar level testing, eye and dental services, bursaries etc.

Despite achievements in improving access to health care, much more still needs to be done in terms of quality of care, making services available to all citizens of our province and ensuring better health outcomes.
