The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development’s Veterinary Services Unit has received a state of the art truck from the National Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

The purpose of the truck is to ease, improve and bring animal and public health services closer to communities in rural areas. 

The state of the art truck also seeks to assist communal farmers to improve the health of their livestock. It will also give an extra edge to speed up services in the far flung areas of the province, especially where veterinary services is still a far-fetched dream.   

The state veterinary services plays a critical role in controlling various animals diseases in the country, thus the truck came in handy. The Northern Cape Province played a significant role in the designing of the truck and also assisted another three provinces namely Gauteng, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Western Cape. End
