7th annual Northern Cape Writers Festival PDF Print E-mail

Northern Cape authors and poets will once again converge in different platforms to share their writing skills and expertise during the 7th Northern Cape Writers Festival. The 2016 festival will be held in all five districts of the province from Friday, 19 February 2016. It will be celebrated under a theme “Celebrating Democracy” with the first event to be held at Hartswater in Phokwane Municipal area on Friday and Saturday 19 and 20 February 2016.

The MEC for Transport, Safety and Liaison, Honourable Mac Jack will be launching the Northern Cape Provincial Crime Prevention Strategy on the 12th September 2013 in Batlharos, John Taolo Gaetsewe region.

Honouring Of The Colesberg Four PDF Print E-mail

The Northern Cape Provincial Government is set to unveil a memorial in honour of four  people who were killed by the apartheid police at Kuyasa township in Colesberg in the Pixley ka Seme District. The unveiling is scheduled to be done by Premier Ms. Sylvia Lucas who will be accompanied by the MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture Ms. Bongiwe Mbinqo-Gigaba on Thursday, 15 December 2016. It will be held at Kilimane Street as part of the Northern Cape Provincial Government’s Reconciliation Day programme.

DEDaT hosts District Economic Symposiums in the PDF Print E-mail

South Africa and the Northern Cape are faced with a challenge of high unemployment and low economic growth. At a national level government identified a number of interventions to address these challenges while at the same time tackling poverty and inequality.

The country adopted the National Development Plan(NDP) which aims to radically transform the lives of the people of the country. At provincial level the Province is in the process of developing the Provincial Growth and Development Plan (PGDP) which is aligned to the NDP.
