On the 17th of January 2024, the community brimmed with anticipation, for it was the day of the much-awaited back-to-school campaign led by the esteemed MEC of Finance, Economic Development, and Tourism, Honourable Abraham Vosloo.

MEC Vosloo, accompanied by officials from the Department of Economic Development and Tourism and Provincial Treasury, set out on a mission to ensure that schools were prepared for the upcoming academic year. Their destination: Oranjezicht High School and Morelig Primary School.

At Oranjezicht High School, MEC Vosloo stood tall before the eager students, his words carrying the weight of wisdom and hope. He commended the dedicated teachers for their unwavering commitment to nurturing the minds of the youth. "Schools are the crux of society," he proclaimed, his voice resonating with passion. "If schools and churches are not holding firm, then the chance of society collapsing is high."

Addressing the students, MEC Vosloo spoke of challenges they faced, particularly the alarming rate of teenage pregnancies. Meanwhile, at Morelig Primary School, a similar scene unfolded. MEC Vosloo and his team presented the school with a generous donation of R30,000 to purchase sporting equipment, igniting joy and excitement among the students. With beaming smiles, they envisioned a future filled with opportunities for physical activity and growth, thanks to the support of their community leaders.
