The Northern Cape Premier, Dr Zamani Saul, together with the MEC responsible for Health, Mr Maruping Lekwene officially launched 20 new ambulances and 10 new patient transport vehicles, to reinforce the current EMS fleet. This is part of the 79 ambulances procured with full conversions by the Department last year, to the value of R60 million. The event took place at the Ministry of Health in Kimberley and attended by Senior management of the Department, EMS management and personnel. During the event, the Premier also welcomed 30 new EMS students enrolled at the EMS College in Kimberley, on a one-year qualification which is a replacement of the entry qualification in this profession.
