The MEC Schools Engagement was marked by significant strides in educational support and infrastructure improvement, benefiting learners in Askham and Rietfontein. The engagement kicked off at JJ Adams Intermediate School in Askham and later moved to Rietfontein Combined School in Rietfontein, bringing much-needed resources and commitments to these institutions.

In a heartwarming gesture, 150 school uniforms were donated to learners from both schools, with 50 uniforms for JJ Adams Intermediate and 100 uniforms for Rietfontein Combined. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on families and ensure that every child has the necessary attire to attend school with pride and confidence.

Additionally, JJ Adams Intermediate School received 40 new mattresses for its hostel, enhancing the living conditions for students residing there. Recognizing the critical need for improved facilities, MEC Abraham Vosloo announced a substantial commitment of R200,000 towards the renovation of the school's hostel ablution facilities. This investment will significantly improve the hygiene and comfort of the students, contributing to a better learning environment.

MEC Vosloo emphasized the government's dedication to nurturing the potential of every child through various educational initiatives. "It is government's priority to ensure that each child reaches their full potential through initiatives such as no-fees schools, school feeding schemes, and the NSFAS. We remain steadfast in our quest to ensure that every child has a brighter future," he stated.
