Biography

Kishan Sankar is an Aquaculture Advisor in the Fisheries Management Branch of the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries previously the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries since 2015.  His primary function is Aquaculture Advisor for the Operation Phakisa Delivery Unit advising clients on aquaculture, unblocking issues faced by the sector and contributes to the development of the sector. He is also a technical advisor for freshwater fisheries and part of the team driving implementation of the National Freshwater (Inland) Wild Capture Fisheries Policy for South Africa.

Presentation

Kishan will be presenting on the overview of the Aquaculture sector in South Africa with a focus of the potential of the Northern Cape.
