Bio

Shawn Motlatsi Modise currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of NCEDA in an acting capacity, bringing extensive executive leadership experience in Project Management and Quantity Surveying, with deep expertise in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). Mr. Modise has a proven track record of successfully leading high-profile projects across diverse sectors, including transportation, infrastructure, Special Economic Zones (SEZ), and Industrial Park development. His unique combination of technical acumen and strategic foresight allows him to guide complex programs and projects with precision.

As a seasoned Project Manager, Mr. Modise has led multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. He has a comprehensive understanding of project lifecycles, utilizing best practices to optimize outcomes. His proficiency in risk management, change management, and stakeholder engagement enables him to navigate intricate project environments seamlessly. With significant experience in PPPs, he has successfully facilitated collaborative projects between public and private sector stakeholders, driving innovation and economic development.

Mr. Modise is results-oriented, collaborative, and driven by a passion for exceeding expectations in all the projects he oversees. He thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and remains committed to delivering excellence while ensuring stakeholder satisfaction.

With 16 years of public sector experience, including 9 years at the Treasury where he played a pivotal role in facilitating PPPs, Mr. Modise holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management and a National Diploma in the Built Environment field. His current focus is on advancing mega-projects in the Northern Cape, specifically leading the development of the Northern Cape Industrial Corridor. This initiative stretches from the Mining Belt in Gamagara to the Boegoebaai GH2 Cluster, positioning the region as a key Western SADC export hub for Green Hydrogen (GH2) aggregation and distribution for global and domestic markets.

 

Through his leadership, Mr. Modise is contributing significantly to transforming the socio-economic landscape of the Northern Cape and South Africa, championing the Green Economy revolution and driving the sustainable industrialization of the region.
