Purpose

This programme conducts policy direction, overall management, financial and corporate support services and is sub-divided into the three sub-programmes outlined below.

It is made up of the following sub-programmes:

  • Office of the MEC
  • Office of the HOD
  • Corporate Services

AIDS Council Secretariat:
 
Purpose
To provide administrative support, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the multi-sector PSP for HIV, STI’s and TB 2012-2016(external and internal mainstreaming through the secretariat)
Services
  • Provide technical, and secretarial support to the Provincial Council on AIDS
  • Coordinate and Report on the multi-sector response
  • Coordinate and mobilize resources for the strategic plan on HIV, TB and STI
  • Strengthen Stakeholder Relations
  • Coordinate the development and the evaluation of the Provincial Strategic Plan on HIV, TB and STI
  • Serve as a hub for Strategic Programmatic Information
  • Represent the province at national level for the coordination of the National response and the coordination of donor agencies
  • Coordinate the development and the implementation of the multi-sector Provincial Strategic Plan on HIV, TB and STI
  • Monitor and Evaluate the multi-sectoral implementation of the Provincial Strategic Plan on HIV, TB and STI

Functions

  • The rendering of a consultation service.
  • The assesment of the health problem. ( HIV/AIDS, physical,psychological, etc. )
  • The referral of cases, when necessary.
  • The provisioning of continued monitoring and follow-up of cases.
  • The monitoring of occupational health safety matters.
  • 6The liaison with other stakeholders within the programme.

Purpose:
Manage motor vehicle fee collection and disbursements
 
Functions:
1. Collect all outstanding motor vehicle fees
2. Ensure the disbursement of fees collected

Provincial Monitoring

Purpose:
To manage and control driver license testing stations and vehicle testing stations in the province
 
Functions:
1. Conduct monitoring of driver license testing centres in the province
2. Conduct monitoring at vehicle testing stations in the province
3. Investigate learners and license appeals from dissatisfied clients
