Statement by the Premier, Ms Sylvia Lucas on the passing of Ms Yolanda Botha

The Premier is saddened by the passing of Ms Yolanda Botha. As a friend, comrade and colleague, Ms Botha had an impact on the lives of all she encountered and worked with. She was a leader of great stature and principle always putting her people first. We as a Province feel particularly blessed to have had an activist and humanitarian such as the late Ms Botha amongst us and her legacy will live forever in our hearts and minds.

On behalf of the people of the Province, Premier Lucas extends her heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues and comrades of the late Ms Botha. May her soul rest in eternal peace. The Premier also calls for restraint and allowing the family the time and space to mourn the loss of a very dear and loving soul.
