The Premier of the Northern Cape, Ms Hazel Jenkins has her full confidence in the MEC for Economic Development and Finance Mr. John Block and appreciated his role as MEC and leadership of the ANC.

The Premier is satisfied that since Mr John Block was appointed as MEC in 2009, he has carried out his duties diligently and to the best of his abilities.The call by Cope for the Premier to remove Mr. John Block from his position as MEC was frivolous, baseless and was done merely to attain cheap publicity. The blind personal hatred for MEC BLOCK has exposed Cope as well as its sister party, the Democratic Alliance, as politically bankrupt.

We view this sustained vilification campaign against the leadership of government and the ANC as a cheap ploy to draw attention away from the good work that the provincial administration is doing.

We urge anybody who posses information about any wrongdoing or corruption to report such matters to the police. We must also allow our courts which are independent to conduct their business unhindered.
