PREMIER HAZEL JENKINS HANDS OVER THE REFENTSE PRIMARY SCHOOL TO THE GROENWATER COMMUNITY ON 19 MAY 2010

The Northern Cape Provincial Government, in collaboration and partnership with De Beers, effected renovations and additions to the Refentse Primary School in Groenwater. As a result new pre-school facilities and an administration block were built.

At the handing over ceremony this morning, the Premier of the Northern Cape Province, Mrs Hazel Jenkins, remarked that: “The handing over of these facilities should be seen as an important milestone in our collective journey of making high-quality education accessible to all our learners, even in the remotest areas of the Northern Cape.”

In thanking De Beers for their sense of social responsibility the Premier stated that, “The developments that we witness today are an indication of the visionary and pro-active leadership that the school and the community have, as well as the dynamic and enduring partnership that has developed between the School and our social partners.”
