The Northern Cape Provincial Government will embark on a Province wide vigorous campaign to honour World icon Nelson Mandela to mark Mandela Day on the 18th July 2010, on his birthday. We call on all our people in the Northern Cape to join us to make a dedicated effort through their actions in the lives of ordinary South Africans.
Let us use this day to make a noble contribution towards improving the quality of life of our people especially the poor and vulnerable through proper targeting of services. Let us make a difference in the lives of our neighbours. Furthermore, this is in line with our commitment to make the government more caring, more responsive and more interactive.

All the departments will be hosting various activities in the respective Towns and villages to dedicate their time in honour of this wonderful leader of our time. They will engage in various programmes and activities ranging from cleaning to contributing relief to disadvantaged South Africans.

We have drawn inspiration from the world cup tournament that by pulling all our talents, energies, resources together we can overcome any possible obstacles.

The respective MEC’s and Premier will attend most of the events.
