In less than a year all the people within the borders of South Africa will be counted on the night of the 9th and 10th October 2011in the biggest census ever conducted in the country. This census marks the third democratic census in South Africa after the 1996 and 2001 censuses.

The National launch of Census 2011 took place on 10 October 2010 and marked exactly a year before the start of the collection process. The Premier of the Northern Cape, Ms Hazel Jenkins will officially launch this process provincially on the 2 November 2010 at 9h00 at the CRC, Boshoff Road in Kimberley. This marks 341 days to Census night on 9 October 2011.

The Census 2011 project will also be marketed on the day under the theme,”

Let us be counted: The South Africa we know.”
