On 24 - 25 June 2011 Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe visited Emthanjeni and Ronesterberg Municipalities in the Pixley Ka Seme district of the Northern Cape to assess the implementation of government’s War on Poverty programme. The War On Poverty Campaign, lead by the Deputy President, forms part of government efforts to fast-track the delivery of government services to improve the lives of people trapped in poverty.

NIKE AIR HUARACHEDeputy President Motlanthe also interacted with members of the communities at a Community meeting. Various mobile services were offered to members of the communities by departments such as the Department of Home Affairs, Human Settlement, Social Development, Health, Agriculture, Education and the National Development Agency amongst others.
The Deputy President, was supported by Northern Cape Premier, Hazel Jenkins and other senior government officials.
