SPU continues to foster strong partnerships with key stakeholders as part of its ongoing efforts to establish a new Faculty of Health Sciences.
During a recent stakeholder engagement, SPU's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof Debra Meyer and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Teaching and Learning, Prof Paul Green, led discussions with the Northern Cape MEC for Health, Mr Maruping Lekwene, as well as senior officials and representatives from government and the healthcare sector.
Delegates explored the potential for a collaborative approach in shaping the future of health education in the region, aligning with Northern Cape’s healthcare priorities.
This dialogue marks an essential step in building a sustainable and impactful Faculty of Health Sciences that will not only equip students with the necessary skills but also contribute to strengthening the province's healthcare system.
It also highlights SPU's ongoing commitment to engage with local government and healthcare institutions to ensure that the proposed faculty is responsive to both regional needs and global trends.
SPU looks forward to continued collaboration and the establishment of a new faculty.
