The Northern Cape Provincial Government has successfully concluded its inaugural Investment and Jobs Conference, held from 13–15 April 2026 at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley. The landmark gathering brought together government leaders, investors, business executives, and international partners under the theme of partnership-driven growth, positioning the province as a compelling destination for investment.
A key milestone of the conference was the official launch of the InvestSA One Stop Shop, a strategic platform designed to streamline investor support, reduce regulatory barriers, and enhance the ease of doing business in the province. The initiative reflects government's commitment to creating a conducive environment for both local and international investors.
These commitments are expected to generate approximately 19 800 jobs, advancing the province's goal of growing its GDP from R164 billion to R200 billion and creating over 60,000 sustainable jobs by 2030. As proceedings concluded, a clear message emerged, 'the Northern Cape is open for investment and ready to build a Modern, Growing, and Successful Province through strong partnerships and decisive action'.
The programme also moved beyond policy discussions to practical implementation, with site visits showcasing successful, government supported enterprises. Among these were The Muslim Butchery and the Eden Estate hospitality centre, both beneficiaries of the National Empowerment Fund (NEF). These businesses stand as tangible examples of how targeted financial support can drive enterprise growth, job creation, and community development. The Conference further elevated its global profile through the participation of international stakeholders, including ministers from China and the council General, underscoring the Northern Cape's growing importance in global investment networks.
Throughout the three days, delegates engaged in meaningful dialogue, forged strategic partnerships, and explored opportunities across priority sectors. The conference not only highlighted the province's competitive advantages but also reinforced a unified vision for inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In his closing address, Premier Dr. Zamani Saul announced that the conference had unlocked investment pledges totalling R105.330 billion across key sectors such as mining, energy, and agriculture.
As proceedings concluded, a clear message emerged, 'the Northern Cape is open for investment and ready to build a Modern, Growing, and Successful Province through strong partnerships and decisive action'.
