The Northern Cape Department of Education hosted their Autumn Holiday School Camps for identified Grade 12 learners in all five Districts in the Province from 25 March until 2 April 2026. In total, 93 high schools participated across the Province and 8 887 learners were accommodated for the duration of the autumn holiday camps. The Autumn School Holiday Camps form part of a continuous support programme for the Class of 2026 in the Northern Cape and have committed to provide them with the maximum support. Educators who teach the various subjects at the Autumn Schools, were able to prepare learners for their final examination and focus on problematic subject content. The purpose of these sessions is to render additional support to Grade 12 learners in the form of revision and consolidation of subject content.
Autumn School sessions allow for additional revision of key concepts, which reinforce and consolidate learning and help learners retain information better. Learners also get opportunities to practice what they have learned, apply their knowledge and refine their skills. Lessons also focus on exam techniques, such as time management, answering strategies and understanding exam formats. Furthermore, additional support will be provided to the Class of 2026 in the form of Weekend Lock-In Sessions, Afternoon classes, Broadcasting of lessons, Winter- and Spring School Camps.
