The Northern Cape Provincial MEC of Health, Mr MS Sokatsha, will officially launch the upgraded kitchens at the Kimberley Hospital, West-End Hospital and the Rehab centre in Kimberley. The event will take place at the Boardroom, Bloc D, Level 6, Kimberley Hospital in the Frances Baard District of the Northern Cape Province.

The need for upgrading the kitchens was based on inadequate equipment, challenges regarding staffing and service delivery.

The process of facing these challenges was started and the cost is estimated at R3, 5 million. The quality of service was strengthened by increasing the staff component of the facilities, installing new equipment, internal control systems were integrated with the ones of the service provider in verifying all cost on daily basis, thus improving our controls.

Other dignitaries expected to accompany the MEC of Health are Members of the Provincial Portfolio Committee members of Health, the CEO and staff of Kimberley and West-End hospitals and the Rehab centre, the Head of the Health Ministry, the Acting Head of the Department of Health as well as senior managers and officials from the Northern Cape Department of Health.
