There was an incident reported yesterday of an alleged scuffle involving two officials in the Department and, the MEC Ms Martha Bartlett and Head of Department Mr Steven Jonkers are working together to resolve the matter internally. 

The MEC wants to state that, “there exists no division and tension between myself and the Head of Department.  We are working hand in hand in order to move this department forward.”

“It is of utmost importance to create a conducive environment for all employees, to do their work to the best of their ability,” she further said.  The Head of Department has also said, “I want to reject allegations of any division between myself and the MEC.  This is simply a means to put my name and the name of the MEC into disrepute and we will not make room for that.”
