The Premier, Dr Zamani Saul, will on Sunday, 16 August 2020 deliver the eulogy at the Provincial Official Funeral of the late MEC for Education, Mr MacCollen Jack. MEC Jack passed away on 12 August 2020.
Due to the fact that MEC Jack was a serving Member of the Executive Council at the time of his passing, he will be accorded a Provincial Official Funeral, Category One.
President Ramaphosa has directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations in the Province until the evening of 16 August 2020 as a sign of respect to MEC Jack.
In accordance with the COVID-19 Alert Level 3 Regulations currently in place, which prescribe that attendance at a funeral is limited to fifty (50) persons, only a limited number of mourners will be permitted to attend the funeral service.
