As part of the build-up programme to the State of the Nation Address, the GCIS office in the Northern Cape in partnership with the Office of the Premier, Namakwa District Municipality and the Richtersveld Municipality are conducting a Civic Awareness Programme in the Richtersveld Municipal area in the Namakwa District.

The aim of the programme is to raise awareness around SONA and developments in the area aimed at improving the lives of the communities. The programme will also highlight the 30 years of freedom and democracy.

This build-up will culminate in a public viewing event of the State of the Nation Adress (SoNA) at the Port Nolloth Drop In Hall.

The President, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, will deliver the SONA on Thursday, 6 February 2025 at 19:00.
