The Pampierstad Imbizo was themed under Strengthening Access to Justice Through Community Engagement, following the successful launch of the Pampierstad Small Claim Court. Deputy Ministers, Andries Nel and Nocawe Mhlauli, led a discussion with residents from four local wards offering a platform for them to voice concerns and propose solutions towards improving justice services.

Key figures from various sectors attended the Imbizo, including government officials, judiciary representatives and traditional leaders. The gathering highlighted the significance of better collaboration between customary and statutory justice systems including the role of different stakeholders in enhancing service delivery.

This initiative aims to provide greater access to justice, allowing community members, particularly those unable to afford legal representation, to resolve disputes quickly and affordable. The Small Claims Court will enable individuals to claim up to R20 000 without requiring a lawyer, making justice more accessible for the people of Pampierstad.
