The Academic and Principals Staff Forum for Nursing Colleges was started in 2006 by the academic section of DENOSA. In 2007 Academics and Principals of Nursing Colleges took over the management of the forum. The forum has been decentralized to the provinces with a College Principal presiding over its matters.

The forum was established to primarily provide a platform for Principals and Academic staff of Nursing Colleges to debate issues pertaining to nurse education. All nursing colleges residing with both the public and private sector are part of the forum.

This is the first time that the forum is being hosted in the Northern Cape.

The vision of the forum is to establish and communicate a shared purpose and
direction for improving the performance and the effectiveness of nursing colleges.
The mission of the forum is commitment to effective public services, courteous public
contact, judicious exercise of authority and stewardship of public resources to meet needs and concerns of our society.
