Modern, Growing, Successful Province

OPENING OF NEW CLINIC - DEBEN

The MEC of Health in the Northern Cape, Mr Mxolisi S. Sokatsha, invites all media to the officially opening of the new clinic in Deben. The event will take place next to the new clinic in Deben - which is located in the Gamagara Local Municipality in the John Taolo Gaetsewe District of the Northern Cape Province.

The new clinic in Deben is part of government’s 10 point plan as capsulated under the revitalization of health infrastructure and improving the quality of health care services. The project was also part of the MEC’s Budget Speech in June 2009. The construction of the clinic started in November 2007 and was completed in May 2008 at a cost of R3.58m.

Building new clinics, upgrading existing health care facilities, provision of personnel, equipment, medicine and transport, are all part and parcel of improving health service delivery in the province. In addition to building new clinics, government is working hard to improve the quality of care that is provided within all our health care facilities. This is in line with our vision as the Northern Cape Department of Health, namely “Health service excellence for all”.

The partners in this project are the Northern Cape Provincial Department of Health, the Gamagara Local Municipality and the Department of Co-Operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs. This is a true reflection that working together, we can do more.

Other dignitaries expected to accompany the MEC of Health are the Acting Executive Mayor of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, the Mayor of the Gamagara Local Municipality, Municipal counselors as well as senior officials from the Provincial and District Department of Health.
