The MEC of Health in province, Mr Mxolisi Sokatsha, hereby invites all media to the officially opening of following new clinic:

• Olifantshoek-Gamagarra Local Municipality- John Taolo Gaetsewe District

The new clinic is part of government’s 10 point plan for the health sector as capsulated under the revitalization of health infrastructure and improving the quality of health care services.

The construction of the Olifantshoek clinic started in May 2008 and reached practical completion by September 2009 at a cost of R6M.The reason for the delay in completion was due to the adding of staff accommodation at the clinic.

The partners in these projects are the Northern Cape Provincial Department of Health, the Gamagarra Local Municipality as well as the Department of Roads and Public Works. These projects are a true reflection that working together, we can do more.

Other dignitaries expected to accompany the MEC of Health are the Speaker of the Provincial Legislature, Chairperson and members of the Provincial Portfolio Committee on Health, Members of the Executive Council, the Executive Mayor of the John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality, the Mayor of the Gamagarra Local Municipality, Municipal counselors as well as senior officials from the Provincial and District Department of Health.
