The MEC for Sports , Arts and Culture , Mr. Lebogang Motlaphing would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ms Tholwana Mohale who hails from Steinkopf in the Northern Cape on winning the SA’ s Got Talent Competition. It is indeed an extraordinary achievement by 14 year old girl to win such a National competition. It goes to show that you must not undermine the talent, skills and potential  of the people of Northern Cape.

This is a special young girl who must be nurtured to ensure that her god given talent and potential is maximized in order for her to reach the pinnacle of her career. It is also imperative that Tholwana gets the necessary guidance and support to assist her to handle her newly acclaimed fame and that she maintains a good balance in ensuring that her school work remains at a good standard , without affecting her singing career.

It is indeed music to our ears to hear that the prize money which she has won will be invested and used for her education.

Tholwana , joins the likes of Lefa Pike. , Simphwe Gwegwe. and Bianca Le Grange (TOP 5 Idol contestants) who all hails from the Northern Cape . The one big difference is that she is the first SA’s Got Talent winner from the Northern Cape, and she is also the very first to make it through to the finale and be adjudged the winner.

As a Province we are ecstatic to have such a rising star in the form of Tholwana Mohale. We will strive to continuously unearth and nurture local talent . We will also try and provide an ideal platform for young aspiring talent to express their creativity in the Northern Cape. We hope that Tholwana will go on to become one of South Africa’s best musical sensations and serve as an ambassador for the youth of the Northern Cape
